Maersk Anglia completes her first Voyage from Heysham to Dublin
The Maersk Anglia joined the Irish Sea route network when she entered service on the Heysham – Dublin route on Monday 1st June.
The Maersk Anglia left Heysham on Sunday night and arrived in Dublin Port to glorious sunshine on Monday morning. The Irish Sea team are delighted to welcome the Maersk Anglia and her crew to the Irish Sea.
Arriving from the North Sea with a proven performance record, a service speed of 18 knots, capacity for 120 trailers and top class onboard driver facilities she will provide a more consistent and reliable service for customers on the route.
The Maersk Anglia joins the Maersk Exporter and is the second of three large ro/ro vessels to transfer from the North Sea to the Irish Sea, specifically to operate through Heysham.
In September, the Maersk Importer will join the Maersk Exporter and the Maersk Anglia on the Irish Sea. These modern vessels have proven reliability and are bigger and faster than the vessels they replace.
