Make every step count!
On Saturday, 12th April Norfolkline's Irish Sea ferry passenger deptartment took part in this year’s Northern Ireland Hospice Care’s 2008 Hospice Walk.
The 2008 Hospice Walk raised much needed funds for the hospice which helps care for local adults and children with life threatening and life limiting illnesses, both in hospice, and at home.
The team took part in the charity walk – the biggest in Northern Ireland – completing a 3.5 mile walk in the grounds of the beautiful Belfast Castle. The sun shone, the hills were steep but everyone completed the walk in good spirits.
Funds raised are very important:
- £10 buys a pillow for the in-patient unit at Northern Ireland Hospice
- £50 provides two hours of specialist nursing care for a life limited child at the Children’s Hospice
- £100 enables a patient living at home to receive two days of care and support at the Day Hospice, including transport and lunch.
- £400 provides one day of Hospice at Home nursing care for a patient and family.
The Norfolkline team raised £840 in sponsorship for the charity walk, so well done to everyone who walked & a big thank you to those who sponsored the team’s efforts!
