Norfolkline starts the Vlaardingen – Killingholme service

26 September 2006

Norfolkline is pleased to announce the start of a new daily ferry service between Vlaardingen (Holland) and Killingholme (UK), and the simultaneous start of the operations from the newly built terminal of Vlaardingen

Further to the earlier announcements, Norfolkline is pleased to announce the completion of the first phase of the construction of its new terminal in Vlaardingen, and the simultaneous start of the daily ferry service between Vlaardingen and the Humber Sea Terminal in Killingholme.

The service will be inaugurated with its first sailing from Vlaardingen on Saturday 30th of September and the first westbound sailing from Vlaardingen to Killingholme will be on Monday 2nd October.

Geographically the location, close to the A4, A20 and A15, will allow our customers an advantage both in distance as well as in driving time. With the current diesel rates and the pressure on driving hours, Vlaardingen will be an extremely attractive option for ferry transportation to and from the U.K.

The service will run a daily departure from each direction, from Monday to Saturday, following the timetable reported below.

“A daily service between Vlaardingen and Killingholme will strategically fit into our network of ferry services being offered to our customers. It also naturally complements our acquisition of The Norse Merchant Group." says Kell Robdrup, Director Norfolkline Ferry Division.

The establishment of this service will further develop the already successful weekly (weekend) sailing initiated in August by Norfolkline between Killingholme and Scheveningen.
