Diane Poole
General Manager – Passengers
My Norfolkline experience started on 1st April 2005. My background has always been in transport but more importantly working with people, one of my first career paths was in HR ( Personnel as it was known in those days - hopefully this isn't giving my age away) I found that I loved helping, encouraging and building up trust with staff. I then moved to Sales and have continued in a role where people are my main contact and they help me to produce the revenue in passenger sales - this is very rewarding.
One great achievement that I’m proud of in Norfolkline is helping to put NFL Irish Sea onto the map in the Passenger business. So far watching and developing this business has been very exciting and challenging.
I love working for this organization because of the people interaction, different nationalities, ability to get on with running my own department with very little interference (unless I need it), progression opportunities and assistance with development if required.
I feel it’s great to be supported by a world class organization that treats employees as individuals, care for their needs, welfare and support the ability to grow in the business and encourage if they are happy with role they have.
Things I ask my team always is to work hard , never be scared to go the extra mile, never be frightened to make a decision , customer care is NO 1 priority, enjoy working with our customers you will make them feel better also , but most importantly have fun in your job - Laughter is good for your health and everyone else's (as long as it is not too loud!!!).
