Britons preparing for a ferry trip to France should make sure they remember to arrange travel insurance, an expert asserts.

A spokesperson from Saga has commented that this is every bit as important as remembering to pack a passport.

He said that taking the contact details of an insurance provider is also vital, those planning a ferry trip to France may be interested to hear.

The spokesperson also claimed that that making a full declaration and reading the policy carefully is also important for would-be holidaymakers.

Meanwhile, ensuring that no relevant data is omitted from an application is also stated as being vital.

He said:

"It is completely deceiving to not mention something to your insurer because it will mean that the policy is invalid."

These comments come after Age Concern Insurance Services stated that over 55s failing to take out insurance before heading off on breaks, such as ferry trips to France, could be hit with bills of thousands of pounds should there be a problem while they are on holiday.
