1) General Queries:
How long does the crossing takes?
With Norfolkline you can reach Dunkirk within 2hours and Calais within 90 minutes from Dover.
Is smoking allowed on board?
Passengers are allowed to smoke outside on the decks but not in the public areas onboard the vessels.
Do I need to carry passport during the sail?
Yes, all the passengers need to carry their passports while sailing.
Do you allow passengers to carry any of the weapons on board?
Yes, Norfolkline allows passengers to carry weapons if they are licensed. Passengers need to be declare this at the time of booking, 24 hours before theintented journey.
Can you offer a baby crib in my cabin?
Norfolkline supplies cots for use in cabins, however some do not offer this facility so please check when booking.
Are pregnant women allowed to travel in ferries?
We suggest females who are less than 12 weeks pregnant seek advice from a physician before travelling. Ladies who are more than 28 weeks at the time of the journey are required to generate a healthcare document showing they are healthy and fit to travel. The Service provider supplies the right to ask for a healthcare document at any level of maternity and to reject passage if the Service provider and/or the Expert is/not pleased that the Traveller will be safe during the passage.
Can I use my phone while at sea?
Yes, you can use mobile phones.
Is a Wi-Fi Online access available on board?
Norfolkline provides mobile phone network or Wi-Fi internet service through on-waves, via a satellite connection. Travellers are suggested to contact on-waves for appropriate chargers prior to using the service.
Do your cross channel ferries allow foot passengers?
No, since our cross channel ferries are designed for vehicle owners, foot passengers cannot travel on Dover–Dunkirk or Dover–Calais vessels.
2) Booking Related Queries:
Can I book a ticket with different numbers of travellers on the outgoing and return trips?
At present, we’re not able to provide assistance to make one booking with a different number of travellers on the outbound and return trips. However, it can be carried out as various bookings. For instance, if you want to make a booking for two persons travelling outbound and one person returning, book as follows: 1. First booking for two persons outbound only
2. Second booking for returning person only
OR
1. First booking for one person return
2. Second booking for one person individual.
Can I book a ticket online or on the telephone?
Yes, you can book your ticket either online or by phone.
What if I lose my ticket?
Norfolkline do not issue tickets. We give you a reference number which should be carefully noted. If you should lose the booking related details, you can contact our call centre on 0871 574 7223.
How can I obtain the cheapest ferry cost?
Norfolkline offers the cheapest fares online; the cost quoted online is the cheapest fare for the date/time/route combination according to your selection. Most deals are demand driven, thus we tend to suggest you book early and avoid peak sailing times.
Can I buy a ticket in the port?
Yes, you can buy a ticket at the travel centre in Dover or Dunkirk.
How do I book a bicycle?
Please choose Bicycle from the vehicle type menu and continue with the booking. Note a distinct booking will require to be made for individual bicycles.
The cost I’m quoted now is a higher price than previously. Why does this happen? The cost you see online is only valid at the time of the quotation. Most ferry operators utilise a demand-driven pricing system, and costs may vary with respect to accessibility. Therefore, we recommend booking early to get the cheapest price.
3) Vehicle Related questions:
How can I book two or more motorcycles?
You can only book one vehicle/motorcycle per booking; so you’ll need to create separate bookings for more than one vehicle.
Can I have bicycle attached to my car?
Norfolkline never has any objection if the vehicle height doesn’t exceed 2.4m and the length 5m.
Whom should I contact for vehicle related queries?
Contact the call centre on 0871 574 7223 ( Calls may cost up to 10p per minute plus network extras) for any vehicle related queries.
Do your vessels have a currency exchange facility?
Yes, Norfolkline provides a currency exchange facility onboard.
If I change my vehicle (car/motorcycle/bicycle), can I change the booking to my new vehicle?
Yes, as long as the new automobile falls within the size of the automobile reserved and is the same type (e.g. car, van, motor home), we can modify this for you; please note an administration cost will be made. If the new automobile is bigger than that initially reserved, please get in touch with us so we can modify your booking. Failing to do this may incur extra costs at the port.
How can I book on the internet if I am travelling in a van/truck or any other commercial vehicle?
At present only car-based vehicles (height less than 1.8m), non-commercial can usually be reserved online, and only if the ‘Van’ choice can be chosen from the mode of transportation shown. Due to customs regulations, transit-style vehicles are sometimes prohibited to travel under a Vacation ticket, and may be charged at a different rate.
4) Pet Related Queries:
Can I make a booking to include my pet?
You can carry your pets on board if the route you’ve selected accepts pets and. there is availability for pets.
Can I Travel with my pet if I am visiting as a foot passenger?
No.
Where will my pet stay during the crossing?
Your pet may have to stay in the car during the journey or inside a kennel that you can book in advance. Cabins or kennels will be provided according to availability. Please get in touch with us or look att ‘other concerns’ in the pet’s section for more guidance.
